It is with great relief that I announce the end of the mad Ghost Torquil. He was destroyed this last Sunday , Nov 16, 2008, by Professor Alecto Sciarri and a brave band of students. The full story will be posted soon. The castle is safe once again.

I must protest, Madam Lotus - I believe the students require naming for their efforts as well. Mr. Aaran Weezles and Ms. Kira Worthington were instrumental in ending the threat, as well as the Deputy Caretaker called Phoenix. Our efforts worked in concert to destroy this wraith, sending him back to the hell-pit he crawled out of.

I am so very sorry . The facts were given to the members of the Historical Society and not posted here- as they should have been.
Here is is then:

The evil we knew has gone at last. Two weeks ago our Co-Deputy Headmaster Alecto Sciarri, Kira Worthington, Arran Weezles, and the young Assistant Caretaker Phoenix found themselves battling to banish the ghost Torquil from the world of the living. The battle raged for hours and only at cost were they able to save the world from this menace. Here then is the story of Torquil in full.

A long time back in the History of Hogwarts there came a dark chapter to the story of the early days. In that time one born of Raven and Lion did wish to take his place as ruler of wizard and Muggle as he felt was his due. Moreover, when those opposed to him rose against him he did use his knowledge of magic to construct a great weapon one that would destroy all those who opposed him. Therefore, the last of the line of Raven and Lion, Lord Torquil did come to this land and go into battle against one who was kin to him, with the blood of the lion in them as well, Lord Somerled. The armies did face each other in what is now know as Arc Hale and did come to battle. However, what Lord Somerled did not know was of the weapon Lord Torquil had made. As Lord Somerled’s forces did get closer the army of Torquil did ready the weapon. However, unknown to him a small band of fighters under the banner of the Gryffin did approach Lord Torquil, and engage him in battle also seeking to destroy the weapon. They did accomplish that goal but many young lives were lost in doing so, and with the loss of his weapon, Lord Torquil fell in battle. Therefore, the army of the Raven Lord did flee the land, and the armies of the Lion did think they were victorious, and gathered the spoils of war. To Lord Somerled went the sword of Torquil, to the School went the banner and the wand of Torquil. Despite being warned to destroy the items by those wise in seeing, the victors paid no heed and instead did just hide the items, thinking they were safe.
Time passes and one of the items is found in the castle and it did cause he who had not passed from this realm to stir and come seek it. For the sprit of Lord Torquil did live on for those items gave him the power to remain, causing pain to the living. But he did not have all the items so he could not come to power again and did fade back into the mist to wait, knowing there would come a time when all would be found. Time passes and the circle comes about again and One who had been before does come back to Hogwarts. With this coming Lord Torquil stirs and is most fearful and so he sets out to destroy. He does steal things and hide them, but they are found, so he tries to destroy the One he fears but fails. This does alert others to his presence and they do try to bind and destroy him, so he hides again waiting. But the circle must be finished for time to move again and warnings are forgotten and things hid are brought to light and Torquil does take the item and grow in power again, but he has them not together as others know of his weapon as in the past and seek to keep him from using it again. And so they did seek to destroy and were given the clues on how to do this by a ghost of the past. So the tools were gathered and Lord Torquil did attack and time folded in and all was confusion. But the brave did prevail and the items destroyed. Torquil did vanish from this realm for good. Sadly young lives were still lost and others forever changed, never to be what they were before.
